Samsung Galaxy S III Pitted Against Competitors in Leaked Benchmark Test

As you’re sure to know by now Samsung’s Galaxy S III is, for all intensive purposes, the most highly anticipated Android powered smartphone currently on the horizon. This device is looking to expand and capitalize on the success of both the Galaxy S and it’s successor, the Galaxy S II.

Currently, there’s not much to be said about the Galaxy S III that’s 100% concrete due to Samsung keeping generally quiet. However, when it comes to unofficial leaks and things of that nature there is a wealth of knowledge to be had. That knowledge continues to be expanded upon such as today when a benchmark for a certain GT-i9300 appeared within the GLBenchmark app. Now, to be fair, Samsung has not confirmed that the GT-i9300 is actually the GS3 but for the time being, let’s just assume it is.

Utilizing these benchmark tests, Android and Me took it a step further and compared the results to some of the hottest devices on the market today. The results? Well, from the looks of it, the Galaxy S III is gearing up to be one of the most impressive Android powered devices we’ve ever seen.

As you can see from the above graph (provided by Android and Me) the Galaxy S III bests everything from the OMAP4 touting Galaxy Nexus all thew ay up to the quad-core Tegra 3 touting HTC One X. What is performing such magic you ask? Well, it’s not been confirmed (like virtually everything else) but it’s said that Samsung will be going for the quad-core  Exynos 4412 as opposd to the dual-core Exynos 5250 as previously rumored.
