If you’ve been paying attention to the mobile world you’ve probably seen Apple and Samsung’s names in the headlines quite a bit. While Apple and Samsung duke it out in court over their mobile devices, other manufacturers are taking the opportunity to announce their own high profile offerings. LG, for example, is one company we don’t hear about all too often but when we do, we generally aren’t disappointed.
Today, the LG Optimus G has hit the scene in the form of leaked pictures and spec. This device is said to be making its official debut at IFA 2012 at some point next week so be sure to take everything we’ve got here with a grain of salt until more is officially said.
Along with the leaked picture you see above, the LG Optimus G is said to feature a 4.7-inch IPS HD display with 1280 x 720 resolution, a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, Adreno 320 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 13-megapixel rear facing camera and Android ‘Ice Cream Sandwich’ 4.0.4. Unfortunately, we were unable to uncover how much storage space the Optimus G is said to have along with the resolution of its front facing camera. However, based on market trends, we would say that the Optimus G will most likely feature between 16 – 32GB of internal storage and will come complete with at least a 1.3 – 2 megapixel front facing camera.
Aside from the hardware, it’s to make note that the Optimus G is said to be dropping with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and not the new and improved Android 4.1 Jellybean. Of course, seeing how this remains nothing more than a leak it wouldn’t be too surprising if LG took the liberty of upgrading the Optimus G prior to release.
